The tech landscape experienced a week of diverse developments, ranging from advancements in open-source AI and efforts to combat species extinction to quality control concerns in chip manufacturing and a film financing forum in Hong Kong.
Colossal Biosciences announced on Tuesday, Feb. 3, its plan to preserve the DNA of 10,000 animal species, aiming to potentially revive them from extinction in the future, according to Time. This initiative follows the company's previous effort to engineer the return of the dire wolf.
