Sony Plans Expansion of Peanuts Brand After Acquisition; 'The Grand Tour' Gets New Hosts

Sony Group executives outlined their vision for leveraging the iconic Peanuts IP across music, film, and global distribution platforms during the company's fiscal third-quarter earnings call Thursday, according to Variety. Lin Tao, a Sony executive, detailed the plans.
In other news, Prime Video has tapped Francis Bourgeois, Thomas Holland, and James Engelsman to host the revamped "The Grand Tour," Variety reported. The show is set to return later this year with a fresh lineup, two years after Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May departed. Variety noted that the new hosts are "in no way cardboard cutouts of the old three."
Meanwhile, in the realm of streaming services, Wired highlighted deals and promo codes for Paramount+ and HBO Max this February. Paramount+ offers a range of content, including "South Park," "Yellowstone," and original series like "MobLand." HBO Max boasts content from Warner Bros., Discovery Channel, CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Animal Planet, including HBO original series like "Succession" and movies like "Barbie," according to Wired.
Additionally, H264, a Montreal-based film distribution and international sales company, has acquired the international rights to "La Portraitiste," the first narrative feature film written by Florence Longpré and directed by Annie St-Pierre, Variety reported.
