Anthropic's Claude AI is making waves this week with advancements in both WordPress integration and AI coding capabilities. On Thursday, WordPress launched a new Claude connector, allowing site owners to share back-end data with the chatbot system, according to TechCrunch. Simultaneously, Anthropic researchers deployed 16 instances of the Claude Opus 4.6 AI model to build a C compiler from scratch, as reported by Ars Technica.
The new WordPress connector gives users control over the specific data they share with Claude, and access can be revoked at any time, TechCrunch noted. Claude will have read-only access, preventing it from altering a user's CMS. However, WordPress had previously indicated plans to eventually provide write access to the integration, potentially enabling users to conduct editorial tasks directly through a connected chatbot. After linking Claude to an account, users can ask the chatbot questions about their site data, such as summarizing monthly web traffic or analyzing post performance, according to TechCrunch.
In a separate development, Anthropic's AI coding experiment involved 16 Claude Opus 4.6 AI models working together on a shared codebase with minimal supervision, Ars Technica reported. The AI agents were tasked with building a C compiler from scratch. Over two weeks and nearly 2,000 Claude Code sessions, the project cost approximately $20,000 in API fees and reportedly produced a 10,000-line compiler, according to Ars Technica.
The advancements come amid a push toward AI agents, with both Anthropic and OpenAI releasing multi-agent tools this week, Ars Technica noted.
