OpenAI is reportedly set to begin testing advertisements in its popular chatbot, ChatGPT, as early as today, according to a report from CNBC. In New York, over 160 companies have filed notices of mass layoffs since last March, but none have attributed workforce cuts to technological innovation or automation, according to Wired. This option was added to a required question on paperwork that businesses with 50 or more employees must file with the state. The New York Department of Labor confirmed that, as of the end of January, no employer had cited technology as the reason for workforce reductions.
