Meanwhile, world leaders convened in Munich for the annual Security Conference, where discussions on European security and the presence of Germany's far-right party took center stage.

The SSA's new policy involves providing ICE with the dates and times of upcoming in-person appointments if requested, the source stated, speaking on the condition of anonymity. While most SSA appointments occur over the phone, some individuals, such as those who are deaf or hard of hearing and require interpreters, or those needing to change direct deposit information, still require in-person visits. Noncitizens are also required to appear in person for certain matters.

Simultaneously, the Munich Security Conference commenced, drawing leaders from around the globe to discuss the future of European security. The conference, often described as a "Davos for defense," will address critical issues facing the continent. For the first time in years, members of Germany's far-right AfD party will be in attendance, despite a previous ban.
