NASA Targets February 11 for ISS Crew Rotation Launch
NASA announced that the next crew rotation to the International Space Station (ISS) is targeted for launch as early as February 11, 2026. The launch window opens at 6 a.m. Eastern (1100 GMT), according to the space agency's social media announcement on Wednesday. The launch was originally scheduled for February 15 but NASA considered moving it up after the evacuation of a previous ISS crew. Additional launch windows are also being considered.
In other news, Microsoft's demand backlog doubled to $625 billion, boosted by OpenAI, according to a recent earnings report. The company also reported crossing $50 billion in quarterly revenue for its cloud business. However, Microsoft's stock tumbled nearly 5% in after-hours trading following the release, which revealed a slowdown in Azure revenue growth and capacity constraints that the company expects to last until at least the end of its fiscal year in June. During an earnings call with analysts, Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella and Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood addressed investor concerns about the revenue growth slowdown for the Azure platform amid rising capital expenditures.
Meanwhile, Tesla reported a 46% slump in profits last year, as it lost its position as the top electric vehicle seller. The company revealed the figures in its earnings update Wednesday evening. While the profit drop was anticipated by analysts, the results were better than expected. Despite revenue growth from other sectors like energy storage, Tesla's car sales have declined.
In the tech sector, a new company called Adaptive6 emerged from stealth mode, aiming to reduce enterprise cloud waste. According to Gartner, public cloud spending is projected to rise 21.3% in 2026. However, Flexera's State of the Cloud report indicates that up to 32% of enterprise cloud spending is wasted on duplicated, non-functional, or outdated code, as well as inefficient processes. Adaptive6 is already optimizing Ticketmaster's cloud infrastructure.
