A police officer was killed and another critically wounded in a shooting at a hotel near Stone Mountain, Georgia, on Sunday, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department. The incident occurred after two officers were dispatched to a hotel on a call reporting fraud, approximately 25 miles northeast of Atlanta, ABC News reported.
Upon arrival, the officers encountered an individual who drew a gun and shot both officers, according to police. The officers returned fire, wounding the suspect. One officer died from their injuries, while the other was critically wounded, the police statement said.
