Savannah Guthrie, co-host of the "Today" show, has issued a plea for the safe return of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since February 1. In a video posted on Instagram, Guthrie urged whoever is holding her mother to "do the right thing," emphasizing that "it's never too late."
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on the evening of January 31, when she had dinner with her other daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her son-in-law, according to CBS News. The FBI has released photos and videos of an armed person in a mask near her Tucson, Arizona, home, appearing to tamper with a security camera, as reported by ABC News. Male DNA was found on a glove near the home, sources told ABC News.
"It's been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say we still have hope, and we still believe," Guthrie said in the video. "And I wanted to say to whoever has her, or knows where she is, that it's never too late. And you're not lost or alone. And it is never too late to do the right thing. And we are here. We believe. And we believe in the essential goodness of every human being. And it's never too late."
In other news, Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee, announced he is selling his talent agency. This decision follows the release of emails between Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell, revealed in recently released government files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Wasserman, whose agency represents some of the top pop music artists in the world, has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
Also, Mikaela Shiffrin's Olympic drought continues after she failed to make the podium in the women's giant slalom at the Milano Cortina Games on Sunday, finishing in 11th place. The U.S. standout had a combined time of 2:14.42.
